Jack's Mad, Falling Leaves and an October Snowstorm

It's been ages and ages since listing on ebay, but I'm finally making my grand re-debut in the auction world with this pouting Jack-O Lantern make do 'Jack's Mad'. Prince Jack is loaded with attitude and will make a perfect centerpiece for a halloween collection or on the Halloween dinner party table!















It's difficult to see in the photos, but Jack has his pouting bottom lip stuck way out in defiance. He's paper mache and has frosty glass glitter on his nose and sprinkled about. He wears a very sturdy painted and glittered crown and a crepe paper bow at his collar. He's permanently attached to a vintage solid wood base that's been repainted and glittered as well.

Jack's Mad Ebay Auction

The leaves are starting to turn and flutter to the ground up in Lake Tahoe. And, yes, it's true, we just had our first snow storm of the year!! Nothing like October snowflakes and and fluttering crispy leaves to spark the mood for creating holiday art!

Our Australian Kelpie 'Gypsy' was beside herself with joy running and leaping about outdoors. Eventually, the cold brought her inside, where she promptly curled into a ball in her favorite spot to warm up.

...And here she was looking peeved at me for snapping photos of her while she was trying to warm up. could this be where the creative seed was planted for 'Jack's Mad'?? If she could, I'm sure she would have stuck her bottom lip out. Hmmm...could be.

Turkeys and Veggies

The big Halloween show is behind and it's good to be home! Still catching up on emails and such, so please be patient. A few pieces have risen to my surface and chosen to be created.

Halloween and Vine show 2009

The Halloween and Vine show was a joy to attend as always! An hour before the show started there was line wrapping around the building of diehard fans anxiously waiting for the doors to open.

To all of my customers: A big giant thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. I'm committed to working my hardest to bring you top quality work.

Many of you requested lamps, so I will be focusing on creating many more eye-popping illuminations for 2010. Please stay tuned for more information.

Countdown - 30 Days Until Halloween & Vine

Yes, the countdown has begun. A mere 30 days separates us from the 2009 Halloween & Vine Show. If you are a Halloween folk art fan and live anywhere within driving distance of Petaluma, California, this is a MUST SEE event.

25 Top notch artists from around the country gather for a few hours in the quaint, historic Hermann Sons Hall to offer their original Halloween art for sale.

At this moment, We, the participating artists, are squirreled away in our studios preparing our offerings for the show. We are delaying returning emails and phone calls, putting off chores and plans, disappearing from Facebook and Twitter pages, becoming sporadic in our blog posts, etc. so that we can bring you our most creative works of the year.

Imagine Finding a Very Old...

Imagine finding an old miniature toy steamer chest that's been around for nearly a hundred years. It's well worn, but beautiful in its own way. You wonder who the child was that played with it so long ago, and what their life turned out to be.

After unlatching and opening the chest, you almost laugh out loud at the old and comical Halloween figure staring back at you with a surprised expression on its face. What a find! You'll display it in a special place and admire it every year, sometimes wishing it would tell some of the stories it silently keeps.

WIP - Halloween Nut Cup on a Glittered Cake Stand

I so enjoyed the colors and textures of the bird's nest supplies, that I've kept them within easy reach for future use. Here's a decorated nut cup atop a glittered miniature cake-stand I'm working on presently...not sure what magic treasure will fill it, but I promise You'll know when I know(wink).
